Portfolio Blueprint — Build a Site That's Actually Yours
Portfolio blueprint

A marketplace profile makes you
one of many.
A site makes you the one.

You don't need to learn to code to stop competing on price inside a bidding feed. This is a straightforward, no-code way to put a portfolio on your own domain — plus what it actually costs, and who we're partnered with to get you there.

How this page makes money: the button below points to our hosting partner, Hostinger, through a referral link. If you sign up through it, we earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. We only link to a plan we'd suggest to a friend, but you're free to buy hosting anywhere; this page will still be here.
The problem

Marketplace profiles are built for comparison shopping.

Every bidding-site profile sits in a list next to a dozen others, sorted the way the platform wants — usually by price. That's not a flaw you can fix with a better profile photo; it's how the format works.

On a marketplace

Clients scan a grid of near-identical bids. Price is the easiest thing to compare, so it's often the first filter — even when it shouldn't be.

On your own site

There's no competing bid on the same page. You control what a visitor sees first — your work, your process, your rate.

Be honest with yourself

A domain alone won't get you clients. It removes one specific disadvantage — being priced next to strangers — nothing more, nothing less.

Setup — three steps, in order

What it actually takes to get a site live

No code. You're picking a template and filling in your own work — this is the order that makes sense to do it in.

01

Claim your domain

Pick a .com, .net, or .online that matches your name or brand. A domain registered through the partner plan below is included in the bundle price — you're not paying a separate registrar fee.

02

Pick a template and drop in your work

A drag-and-drop builder with layouts aimed at writers, designers, developers, and VAs. Most people can get a first draft live in under an hour — faster if your case studies are already written.

03

Point it at hosting

The starter hosting tier below covers a personal portfolio site comfortably. SSL is included, so your site loads as secure (https) by default.

The bundle

What's in it, and what it costs

This is the promotional plan our partner runs for new sign-ups. Renewal pricing after the first term is set by them, not us — check the cart total before you confirm.

  • One free domain (.com, .net, or .online) for the first year
  • No-code drag-and-drop builder, with portfolio-oriented templates
  • Free SSL certificate (your site loads as secure by default)
  • Starter hosting tier, discounted for new accounts
  • 30-day refund window on the hosting plan

Not included: your own copywriting, photography, or case studies — the template gives you the shell, the content is on you.

$2.99/mo, billed at signup

Discount applies to new accounts at checkout. Multi-year terms lower the monthly rate further; check the cart for your exact total before paying.

Common questions

Do I need web development experience?

No. The builder is visual — you're arranging blocks and swapping in your own text and images, similar to using a slide or document editor. If you've used Canva or a website builder before, the workflow will feel familiar.

How long does setup actually take?

Most people get a first version live in under an hour if they already have their work samples and bio written. Writing that content is usually the slower part — budget time for that separately.

Can clients outside my country view the site?

Yes — it's a normal public website. Hostinger operates data centers in several regions, so load times will vary a bit by where your visitor is, same as any hosted site.

What if I change my mind?

The hosting plan carries a 30-day money-back window from Hostinger directly. Refund terms and any conditions are set by them — read the checkout page before you buy.

Will this get me clients on its own?

No. A domain and a template remove one disadvantage — being priced next to marketplace competitors — but you still need real work samples, outreach, and follow-through. Treat this as infrastructure, not a marketing strategy by itself.

Own the domain. Own the pitch.

If a marketplace bidding feed is the only place clients find you, this is a low-cost way to give them somewhere else to land.
